Dust Devils rip through Indians’ pen

Yakima scores four in third inning, holds off Spokane

PASCO – The Tri-City Dust Devils strolled their way to a 6-1 victory over the Spokane Indians in Northwest League play on Tuesday night. Tri-City used seven walks and six hits to even its record at 1-1 to begin the second half of the season. The Dust Devils chased Indians starter Nick Green in the bottom of the second inning. Carlos Belen led off with a double and Green issued back-to-back walks around a pair of strikeouts to leave with two outs and the bases loaded. Blake Bass replaced Green and induced Mitch Morales into a groundout to end the threat. But the wheels fell off for Bass in the bottom of the third. Justin Pacchioli walked and stole second base. Kodie Tidwell sacrificed Pacchioli to third and he scored when Jose Carlos Urena reached base on a fielder’s choice to third baseman Dean Long. Belen doubled home Urena for a 2-0 lead and Ty France singled in Belen. France later scored on a two-out single by Nick Vitter to make it 4-0. The Indians (1-1) scored their lone run in the top of the sixth inning when Dylan Moore plated LeDarious Clark with a two-out single. Spokane first baseman Oliver Caraballo went 3 for 4 with a double in his season debut.
