Bond set at $3 million for triple murder suspect

From staff reports
Bond has been set at $3 million for triple-murder suspect Roy Murry, accused of killing his wife’s mother, stepfather and brother. Murry appeared at a 1:30 p.m. hearing Tuesday in District Court, handcuffed, with five jail guards on hand. Prosecutors are pursuing three counts of aggravated murder, which makes Murry eligible for the death penalty. Spokane County Prosecutor Larry Haskell asked that bond remain at $3 million. Defense attorneys did not protest. Haskell said charges will be filed shortly in Superior Court. Investigators arrested Murry, 30, this weekend after Terrance Canfield, Lisa Canfield, and John Constable were found shot to death inside a home and barn at 20 E. Chattaroy Road near Colbert. The structures were also set on fire. Court documents show Murry believed his estranged wife’s family was responsible for their separation. Amanda Murry told investigators that she had moved in with her mother, stepfather and brother and wanted a divorce from Roy Murry.
