Area residents complete military basic training

Several area residents have graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.

• Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher Napolitano is the son of Rick and Angela Napolitano, of Colbert. Napolitano graduated in 2008 from Mount Spokane High School and earned an associate degree in 2010 from Spokane Community College.

• Air Force Airman Justin Snediker is a 2014 graduate of Mead High School. He is the son of Spokane residents Mac and Katrina Snediker.

• Air Force Airman Nicholas Phillips-Gleave earned distinction as an honor graduate. Phillips-Gleave is the son of Richard and Amy Gleave, of Spokane.

• Air Force Airman Joshua Dufner graduated from John R. Rogers High School in 2013. He is the son of Spokane residents Doug and Spring Grisham and Ray Dufner.

• Air Force Airman Jennifer Haldeman is the daughter of Mark and Michelle Martell and Ray and Tonya Haldeman, all of Spokane. She graduated from North Central High School in 2014.

• Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Marlana Reed graduated from John R. Rogers High School in 2014. Reed is the daughter of Randy and Ruth Knowles, of Hayden, and Johnathan and Melissa Reed, of Spokane.

• Air Force Airman Alexander Poteet is a 2015 graduate of East Valley High School. Poteet is the son of Michael and Joylene Burk, of Post Falls, and Richard Poteet, of Spokane Valley.

• Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher Jordan is the son of Curt Jordan, of Spokane Valley, and graduated in 2015 from University High School.

Several area residents have graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina.

• Army Pvt. George San Nicolas is the son of George and Darleen San Nicolas, of Spokane Valley. He is a 2013 graduate of Barker High School.

• Army Pvt. Ryan Henke graduated in 2014 from Joel E. Ferris High School. Henke is the son of Spokane residents Denny and Cheryl Hilt.

• Army Pvt. Austin Anderson is the son of John and Mindy Schlosser, of Spokane. He is a 2014 graduate of Riverpoint Academy.

• Scott Thatcher Givens received a distinguished appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland for the class of 2019. Thatcher Givens is a Post Falls High School graduate.

• Jacob Bernardi, a 2015 graduate of Shadle Park High School, has received an Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) scholarship to the University of Washington. Bernardi is the son of Lee and Kathleen Bernardi, of Spokane.
