Man identified after blazing crash

Authorities on Tuesday identified a 27-year-old man who died in a blazing car crash near Newport two weeks ago. Thomas J. Wilson was trying to pass another vehicle on May 25 when his 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass veered off Highway 211 and rolled to the bottom of the embankment, where it caught fire, according to the Washington State Patrol. He was traveling south about 12 miles west of Newport. Authorities couldn’t determine if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
