D-Day recognition left to French

Did I miss something? I scoured the June 6 paper and found not even a mention or reference to June 6, 1944 (D-Day). While I haven’t checked other newspapers throughout the country, I find it hard to believe that we, as a nation, have forgotten that date and all the troops who gave their all on those beaches.

Having visited Normandy, I’m quite sure the French citizens still take the time to decorate the graves of our boys in their cemeteries. Is 71 years too long ago for us to remember?
