C. Colston Burrell Lecture - The Inland Empire Gardeners will host C. Colston Burrell, an avid plantsman, garden designer, lecturer, author and photographer. A naturalist and teacher, he grows hellebore species and hybrids alongside natives and other treasures in his garden in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Charlottesville, Virginia. Animals

Parade of Paws - A fun-packed two- or four-mile pledge walk to benefit the animals at the Spokane Humane Society waiting for a forever home. Day of event registration starts at 8 a.m. Early registration is available Friday, noon-7 p.m. Collect pledges from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else. Virtual Walkers are also welcome online. Gather five or more friends and form your own dog pack. Many prizes are available for teams and individuals raising the most funds. Come Feed the Buffalo - Through Sept. 30. Come feed the buffalo and take a tour at Win-Tur Bison Farm. Visitors learn the farm’s history and bison facts during a slide presentation and Q&A session, as well as the opportunity to meet and greet the herd and hand-feed the buffalo. Groups welcome.
