‘King Size Recliners’ hit Regal Cinemas

The Regal Cinemas at NorthTown soon will offer a big comfort of home: reclining seats.

The theater is replacing all its seats with recliners that feature footrests. According to a news release from Regal, the new seats – dubbed “King Size Recliners” – are roomier and more comfortable. The new recliners are on display in the lobby, and patrons are invited to take them for a test drive. The conversion is set to be complete in October, the news release said.

Symphony donation

The Spokane Symphony Associates, which raises money to support the Spokane Symphony Orchestra, last week presented a check for $275,000 to the symphony.

The donation reflects money raised in the past year, including proceeds from the Christmas Tree Elegance and the Upscale Sale. According to a news release from the group, it marks the largest donation in Spokane Symphony Associates’ more than 50-year history.
