GOP sends deceptive message
Again Republican Mitt Romney on the Sunday morning shows insinuates the recession was caused by President Obama. What Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers and he fail to honestly acknowledge is that the policy setup for the worst recession in recent history was engineered by President Bush and his Republican Congress. The recession, which began in December 2007, was so severe it bled into the Obama administration, with some aspects lingering still.
It was the Obama principles, including economic stimulus, that brought us out of the recession. Again, the GOP wants to play savior for the middle class; they who pushed greater proportional tax burden onto the middle, gave corporations tax cuts to send middle-class jobs offshore, bailed out the rich bankers and other trickle-down tactics. Michael Ramirez cartoons also perpetuate this illusion.
The GOP also impotently asserts their recovery plan would’ve worked faster than Obama’s. So, take the same medicine that made you deathly ill, to cure you quicker. As with the “Contract with America,” they rebrand themselves with the same trickle-down economic strategy and use deceptive messaging to sell it to the candidate that actively lives in denial of the recent past.
Very scary.
