Education

Dan Stewart has been named director of the Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at Gonzaga University’s School of Business Administration. Stewart is an associate professor of management. He has been with the university since 2006. In addition, Norm Leatha has been named the Hogan Program’s entrepreneur in residence. Leatha worked as the interim director of the program.

Shaun Pitts has been named as the recipient of the Instructor Award from the Spokane County Emergency Medical Services Council in recognition of his work with Inland Northwest Health Services (INHS) Health Training as the lead EMT and AEMT instructor. Pitts has been with INHS since 2012.

Finance

Idaho Independent Bank (IIB) has promoted Toni Capaul from vice president and commercial loan officer to vice president and branch manager at the Coeur d’Alene branch. Capaul joined IIB in 1996 and has 30 years of banking experience.

Government

The city of Spokane has named Ed Lukas as director of asset management. In this role, his duties will include management of city-owned facilities, city-owned real estate portfolio oversight and management, parking system operations, environmental programs and more. Previously, Lukas was vice president of commercial relationships and special assets administrator with Umpqua Bank, formerly Sterling Bank.

The Association of Idaho Cities has elected Hayden City Council member Jeri DeLange as second vice president for 2015-2016. In addition, local officers and district directors were elected as follows: directors from District 1, Coeur d’Alene Mayor Steve Widmyer and Rathdrum Mayor Vic Holmes; directors from District 2, Moscow Mayor Bill Lambert and Lewiston City Council member Bob Blakey.

Law

Winston & Cashatt principals Dave P. Gardner, Collette C. Leland and Elizabeth A. Tellessen have been named as 2015 Rising Stars by Super Lawyers magazine. Super Lawyers recognizes attorneys in Washington state based on peer recognition and professional achievement.

Miscellaneous

Kootenai County Fairgrounds has hired Tammie Peacock as the office and sales manager. Peacock has 10 years of human resource and office management experience. She was previously with Klein’s Home Improvement Inc. and SL Start.

Debbie Anthony has been named a recipient of the Cleaning Authority’s 2014-2015 “Employee of the Year” award at the national convention in Milwaukee.

Nonprofit

The Spokane University District has named Mark Mansfield as the organization’s first full-time executive director. Mansfield’s responsibilities will include leading project development inside the district, guiding strategic direction, serving as liaison for the district and more.

Skils’kin has named James Hughes as the director of employment overseeing Individual Supported Employment, Group Supported Employment, Pre-Vocational Services, and Community Access. Hughes has seven years of experience in community outreach and three years of experience in disability employment services.

Retail

Etailz has hired Tessa Svennungsen as an accountant, Mohamed Alsaid as an international onboarding coordinator and Hunter Arno as a product analyst.

RiverBum, an online business offering fly-fishing flies and gear, has been purchased by local residents Rick Pieczonka and Dave Jolie.
