Why oppose casino?

This letter is in regards to the new casino that they are trying to get built in Airway Heights. It seems pretty obvious that the stalling process is being led by the Northern Quest coalition. Competition should be welcomed because it keeps customer service at the forefront. You keep your patrons happy and they will frequent your business.

Besides that, it will create more jobs. The workers building and the workers who will be hired after it is completed. It will be a huge tax generator for Washington, which the representatives of our state should be all for.

Why, we must ask, are some so against this answer to many people’s needs? Fairchild Air Force Base has said over and over again that this will not impact them, yet the taxpayers continue to use this as a valid reason against it.

As Spokane tries to get people to move here and to bring business to our areas, it seems that this is one way to get that implemented, but for some unknown reason ($) some representatives are trying their hardest to keep that from happening.

Instead of our illustrious leaders filling their own coffers, why not think of the people they are supposed to be working for and help our community build and keep the money here, which will help us all.
