Obituary: Ditmer, Huguette Marianne “Anne”

Age 82

DITMER, Huguette Marianne “Anne” Huguette was born April 25, 1932 near Nancy, France, and passed away in Spokane WA on February 25, 2015.

The fourth child of Marcel and Anna Truchot, her childhood was marked by the German occupation of her family home from 1940 to 1944.

After completing her education, this strong-willed and determined young woman learned to speak English, and found post-war secretarial work with American forces then stationed in France.

She married a career American serviceman, emigrated to the United States, and became a naturalized US citizen.

After a long career and the many moves common to military families, she and her husband, Robert Ditmer, settled in San Jacinto, CA.

There, she was able to enjoy her passion for dog ownership, flower gardening, needlepoint, and sponsoring animal causes.

Following her husband’s death in 1981, she was a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, CO, which kept her near two of her children.

Health issues brought her to Spokane in 2012, to be watched over by her eldest child.

She is survived by her three children, Alain, Jocelyne, and Colette.

She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Piqua, Ohio.

The family would like to thank Fairwinds Assisted Living Facility and Horizon Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
