Obituary: Sandberg-Smith, Jo Anne

Age 58

SANDBERG-SMITH, Jo Anne (Age 58) Passed away on February 28, 2015.

She was born on April 16, 1956, in Wallace Idaho, to Thomas A. and Sheryl Hayman.

Jo was raised on her parent’s dairy farm in Medimont, ID, and graduated from Kootenai High School in 1974.

She attend one year of college at Idaho State University, and completed Cosmetology School, being a hair dresser for the past 38 years.

Jo owned Ceramics Galore in Coeur d’Alene ID, where she shared her artistic love and creativity.

Jo had a great flair for coming up with new ceramic techniques which showed in her teachings.

Jo has won many ceramic awards for her pieces, including the highest ceramic award “the Peggy Award”.

Her other interest included many hours of cross-stitch and reading.

Jo is survived by her son, James (Heather) Sandberg, Central Point, OR; two granddaughters, Jaime and Jolene Sandberg; her father Thomas A. Hayman, Coeur d’Alene, ID; two sisters, Jean (Gary) Kaysen, Spirit Lake, ID; Julie (Clarence) Cress, Medimont ID; two brothers, Thomas P. (Terri) Hayman, Spokane, WA and Douglas (Michele) Hayman, Kasilof, AK, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jo is preceded in death by her mother, Sheryl.

A Celebration Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, March 5, 2015, English Funeral Chapels, 1133 N. Street, Coeur d’Alene, ID.
