Chase Youth Awards - Each year, the Chase Youth Commission honors our community’s outstanding youth, teens and adults who are making a difference in our community or making positive choices through the Chase Youth Awards. Custer’s Spring Arts & Crafts Show - 38th annual event. Features more than 300 professional artists and crafters. Family Dance and Potluck - Easy circle, line, contra, folk and novelty dances with live music for family fun. Designed to encourage young dancers and beginners to move to music and give families quality, crazy time together with lots of laughter. All of the dances are taught by Susan Dankovich, local contra caller and director of the Silver Spurs Youth Folk Dancers. Cross Country Ski Lesson - City of Spokane Parks and Recreation program. Ages 13 and older. Learn to cross country ski and tour the trails of 49 Degrees North Nordic Area. You will be taught the basics by certified ski instructors. Instruction includes basics of equipment, techniques on how to glide on your skis, how to travel uphill and how to stop going downhill. Includes: skiing equipment, trail pass, instruction and transportation. Bring a lunch and plenty of water. Let There Be Legos - Bring the family as our traveling Lego Build Day stops at each Spokane County Library throughout 2015. Your creations will be on display at that library for the month. Family Snowshoe Tour - Ages 13 and older. Bring the whole family and learn the basics of snowshoeing and try this fun winter sport. During the guided hike you will travel on snowshoe trails through the snow-covered trees and hills around Mount Spokane. Depending on snow condition we will either be snowshoeing the Bald Knob or Smith Gap trails. Meet at the Mead Yoke’s. Directions and information emailed after registration. Includes snowshoes, instruction, walking poles, trail fees, guides and transportation.
