Mangan memorial service planned

Friends of former Spokane Police Chief Terry Mangan have organized a memorial service for the late chief for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Spokane Police Academy, 2302 N. Waterworks Ave.

Mangan, who served as chief from 1987 until 1998, died in December at age 76 following a long illness.

The service is being hosted by the Spokane Law Enforcement Museum. The organization that runs the museum has members who served under Mangan.
