Why God doesn’t intervene
Tim Beamer (“Where is God,” Feb. 17) sadly believes that all the atrocities that happen in the world are evidence that God does not exist. Why does God not intervene and prevent the violence and suffering?
People have banned him from schools, eliminated him from the public sector, broken his commandments, berated those who believe in him, rejected his son and banished him from their lives.
Yet, ironically, they still expect him to intervene and prevent them from experiencing hardship when they have made it clear they don’t want him interfering in their lives. God has said that the natural consequences of rejecting him would be to bring upon ourselves misery and suffering. Why should we be surprised when we reap what we sow?
