Teen hurt in cliff fall east of Maple bridge
A teenager suffered significant injuries Wednesday evening in a fall from a cliff overlooking the Spokane River.
Spokane Fire Battalion Chief Mike Thompson said the teen appeared to have fallen 30 to 40 feet and landed in a rocky area on the north side of the river just east of the Maple Street Bridge.
Two medical crews worked to stabilize him and Station 4’s technical rescue team got him out of the river gorge, Thompson said.
The boy, who appeared to be about 17, was transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, Thompson said.
