Israel is not an ally
Why do our press and government continually categorize Israel as an “ally”? Here are a few of the reasons Israel has not been an ally in the past:
They spied on us and stole many secrets, including information that enabled them to develop nuclear weapons. They continually deny that they spied, yet they regularly petition for release of the imprisoned spy Jonathan Pollard.
Their government has been the subject of many United Nations Security Council resolutions condemning Israel for human rights violations. We have squandered our standing in the international community by vetoing all of them.
They have never supplied military assistance for our efforts in the Middle East.
They continually look for money from our stretched budgets.
They defy our requests to stop building new settlements on occupied land even though that is contrary to the U.N. In June 1967, they assaulted our intelligence ship, the USS Liberty, in international waters, killing 34 Americans.
And so on.
