In brief: Outing focuses on power use

From Local Reports

The Sinto Senior Center is offering a full-day outing Wednesday focusing on electric power in the area.

Participants will visit the Palouse Wind Project and learn about the wind turbines. After a picnic lunch there is a tour of Schweitzer Engineering Labs in Pullman, which makes electric power safer and more reliable and economical. The lab invents, designs and manufactures complete solutions for the protection, monitoring, control, automation and metering of electrical power systems. The last stop is at Ferdinand’s famous creamery.

The trip costs $49. For reservations, contact Christal Florin at (509) 327-2861 or christalf@sintocenter.com.
