NBA: Harrison Barnes had 25 points, Andre Iguodala added 21 points and six assists, and the Golden State Warriors cruised past the Atlanta Hawks 114-95 on Wednesday night in Oakland, California, in a matchup of the NBA’s top two teams.

Stephen Curry had 16 points and 12 assists, Draymond Green contributed 18 points and Andrew Bogut grabbed 14 rebounds as balanced Golden State maintained the best record in the league (54-13) with its 10th straight win at home.

The Hawks, looking fatigued and trailing big by the fourth quarter, were denied again in a chance to clinch their first division title since the 1993-94 season as Washington won at Utah.

Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll each scored 16 points and Carroll had 12 boards for cold-shooting Atlanta (53-15), which had won 10 of 12 and three in a row but shot 35.6 percent from the floor.

Both teams played short-handed. The Warriors were without All-Star guard Klay Thompson, who sprained his right ankle Monday against the Lakers and will be re-evaluated in seven to 10 days.

Hawks star Kyle Korver is likely out at least another game after breaking his nose in a win against the Lakers on Sunday. Ex-Warrior Kent Bazemore moved into Atlanta’s starting lineup.

• Westbrook big again in Thunder win: Russell Westbrook scored 36 points to help the Oklahoma City Thunder beat visiting Boston 122-118, snapping the Celtics’ five-game winning streak.

Westbrook, the NBA’s leading scorer, also had 10 assists, five rebounds and five steals. Enes Kanter had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Anthony Morrow added 20 points for Oklahoma City, which moved a half-game ahead of New Orleans in the race for the final Western Conference playoff spot.

Marcus Smart led Boston with a career-high 25 points. Former Gonzaga star Kelly Olynyk and Brandon Bass each added 20 points for the Celtics.

• Cavs roll Nets in Love’s return: J.R. Smith and Timofey Mozgov scored 17 points apiece, Kyrie Irving had 10 assists and the Cleveland Cavaliers shook off a slow start to win their 14th straight home game, 117-92 over the Brooklyn Nets.

LeBron James added 16 points for the Cavs, who had seven players score in double figures. Cleveland trailed by 13 in the first quarter before going on a 30-8 run and didn’t look back.

The Cavs are 25-6 since Jan. 15, when they were 19-20 and being questioned about whether they were NBA title contenders.

Kevin Love returned after a two-game break to rest his back and finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Richards, Blackhawks cool off Rangers

NHL: Brad Richards broke a scoreless deadlock 7:19 into the third period, and the visiting Chicago Blackhawks cooled off goalie Cam Talbot and the surging New York Rangers 1-0.

Right after Rangers defenseman Dan Boyle rang a shot off the crossbar behind Blackhawks backup goalie Scott Darling, Richards got the puck in front of the New York net, waited patiently and snapped a shot past Talbot for his 11th goal.

The Blackhawks stretched their winning streak to four and snapped the Eastern Conference-leading Rangers’ winning run at five games.

• Jackets rally past Oilers in SO: Alexander Wennberg scored the shootout winner as the Columbus Blue Jackets edged the host Edmonton Oilers 4-3.

David Savard, Ryan Johansen and Mark Letestu scored in regulation for the Blue Jackets, who have won four of their last five.

Derek Roy, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Nail Yakupov had goals for the Oilers, who have lost eight of their last nine games.

McKissic, ASU end UConn’s season

Men’s basketball: Shaq McKissic scored 22 points as Arizona State knocked 2014 NCAA champion Connecticut out in the first round of this year’s National Invitational Tournament, 68-61 in Storrs, Connecticut.

UConn senior guard Ryan Boatright, a unanimous first-team All-American Athletic Conference selection, missed the first game of his four-year career due to a left shoulder injury.

Savon Goodman scored 14 for the Sun Devils (18-15).

Rodney Purvis led UConn (20-15) with 19 points.

A 3-pointer by McKissic with 2:10 left put Arizona State up for good.

• Jones leads Vandy past Saint Mary’s: Damian Jones scored 21 points and Riley LaChance added 17 as Vanderbilt defeated Saint Mary’s 75-64 in the first round of the NIT in Moraga, California.

Reserve Jeff Roberson scored 10 points for Vanderbilt (20-13), and Wade Baldwin IV also had 10.

Garrett Jackson scored 23 points and had nine rebounds for the Gaels (21-10), who lost their third straight game. Brad Waldow had 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Aaron Bright scored 17 points for Saint Mary’s.

Jones, a sophomore center, shot 10 of 14 from the field, tying his career high for field goals made. He had seven rebounds.

• South Dakota St. upsets Colorado St.: George Marshall scored 24 points and five of his team’s 12 3-pointers, leading South Dakota State past Colorado State 86-76 in the NIT in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Deondre Parks added 17 points and Jake Bittle 15 for South Dakota State (24-10), regular season co-champions of the Summit League.

J.J. Avila led Colorado State (27-7) with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Daniel Bejarano had 17.

The Rams, still reeling from an NCAA tournament snubbing, led for only 90 seconds of the game.

Barca, Juventus move to UCL quarterfinals

Soccer: Lionel Messi set up Ivan Rakitic’s goal in the 31st minute, and Barcelona defeated visiting Manchester City 1-0 for a 3-1 aggregate win to reach the Champions League quarterfinals for a record eighth consecutive season.

In the night’s other match, Carlos Tevez scored twice and set up a goal in Juventus’ 3-0 win at Borussia Dortmund that capped a 5-1 aggregate win.

Defending champion Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and Porto also are in Friday’s quarterfinals draw. The final eight includes three teams from Spain for the third straight year.

After having a quarterfinalist each year from 1997-2012, England has none for the second time in three seasons.

Barcelona outshot City 23-14, including 11-4 on target. Neymar and Luis Suarez hit the goal frame in the first half, and City goalkeeper Joe Hart denied Messi three times and Neymar twice on good scoring chances in the second half.

City came closest to scoring in the 78th minute, when Sergio Aguero’s penalty kick was saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen after Gerard Pique fouled Aguero.
