11th Annual Spokane Jewish Cultural Film Festival Saturday-Sunday. Continues with two films that share Jewish life and culture. Saturday, 6:45 p.m., Festival Reception at Boots Bakery and Lounge (24 W. Main Ave., across the street from the theater), film begins at 8 p.m. Enjoy a glass of wine and dessert, then venture across the street for a showing of “The Green Prince,” a documentary set against the chaotic backdrop of recent events in the Middle East. Nadav Schirman’s “The Green Prince” retraces the unprecedented partnership between the son of a Hamas leader and the Shin Bet agent who risked his career to protect him. Sunday, 7:30 p.m., “Above and Beyond”: The first major feature-length documentary about the foreign airmen in the ’48 War, “Above and Beyond” brings together new interviews with the pilots with aerial footage to present a little-known tale filled with heart, heroism and high-flying chutzpah. “She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry” Resurrects the buried history of the outrageous, often brilliant women who founded the contemporary women’s movement from 1966 to 1971. “From Spokane With Love” Documentary about creating communities that exist without borders. The story is about a journey of love that Shahrokh Nikfar, along with five Spokanites, embarked on. The film also incorporates interviews with Spokane residents about Iran and the Middle East. A panel discussion of cast and the filmmakers will immediately follow the film. “The Fish Between the Falls” This documentary tells the story of the effort to restore the endangered white sturgeon on the Kootenai River. White sturgeon are the largest and one of the oldest fish in North America. Kootenai River White Sturgeon are a special population of these fish, found only in one small river flowing through northern Montana and the Panhandle of Idaho and up into British Columbia.
