Madeleine’s opens in new space on Main Ave.

Madeleine’s is back.

The downtown cafe and patisserie reopened Monday in a new – and newly renovated – space after a nearly five-month closure.

Done in muted tones of soft gray and beige, the feel is modern French, charming and a bit more sophisticated than the old butter- and periwinkle-hued corner eatery that closed in October.

Madeleine’s had planned to open its new location at that time, but construction delays pushed back the date to March 16. Its lease expired before the new cafe was completed.

It had anchored the corner of Main Avenue and Wall Street for more than seven years before moving a few blocks east.

Look for almond croissants, pain au chocolat, the ever-popular Reuben sandwich and more at the new Madeleine’s, 415 W. Main Ave. Call (509) 624-2253. On the Web: http://madeleines-spokane.com.
