Greensboro regional

(2) Florida State 91, (15) Alabama State 49: Freshman Shakayla Thomas scored 17 points as the host Seminoles won their 30th game of the season Saturday in a rout of the Hornets in an NCAA tournament first-round game in Tallahassee, Florida.

Britney Wright scored 14 points for Alabama State (17-15) which had 32 turnovers that led to a 38-8 FSU (30-4) advantage off mistakes.

(7) Florida Gulf Coast 75, (10) Oklahoma State 67: Kaneisha Atwater scored 26 points and Whitney Knight added 19 points and 10 rebounds to help the Eagles, who never trailed in the second half, beat the Cowgirls in Tallahassee.

It was a sweet win for Florida Gulf Coast (31-2) which was eliminated in last year’s first round in overtime by Oklahoma State.

OSU (20-12) was led in scoring by Roddricka Patton’s career-high 23 points.

( 3) Arizona State 74, (14) Ohio 55: Katie Hempen scored a career-high 23 points and hit five 3-pointers, helping the host Sun Devils roll over the Bobcats in Tempe, Arizona.

Arizona State (28-5) hounded Ohio into 18 turnovers. Quiera Lampkins led the Bobcats (27-5) with 17 points.

(11) Arkansas-Little Rock 69, (6) Texas A&M 60: Taylor Gault scored a season-high 25 points, Kiera Clark added a career-best 22 and the Trojans beat the Aggies in Tempe.

UALR (29-4) led almost the entire game in career-victory No. 700 for coach Joe Foley. Courtney Williams scored 23 for the Aggies (23-11).

(4) North Carolina 71, (13) Liberty 65: Allisha Gray scored 17 points and the host Tar Heels beat the Flames in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Latifah Coleman added 15 points for North Carolina (25-8), which shot 49 percent. Ashley Rininger had 19 points and 13 rebounds for Liberty (26-7). The Flames chipped away at UNC’s 14-point lead down the stretch, pulling to 65-59 with 1:02 left.

(5) Ohio State 90, (12) James Madison 80: Ameryst Alston scored 28 points and the Buckeyes held off the pesky Dukes in Chapel Hill.

Big Ten co-player of the year Kelsey Mitchell added 23 points for Ohio State (24-10). Precious Hall had 28 points for James Madison (29-4), which hit 10 3s but had its six-game winning streak snapped.

Albany regional

(1) Connecticut 89, (16) St. Francis 33: Morgan Tuck had 26 points and eight assists as the host Huskies began their drive toward a 10th national title and third in a row with a rout of the Terriers in Storrs, Connecticut.

Tuck, who outscored St. Francis 20-14 by herself in the first half, made 12 of her 13 shots from the floor for UConn (33-1). Sarah Benedetti had 13 points for St. Francis (15-19).

(8) Rutgers 79, (9) Seton Hall 66: Kahleah Copper and Tyler Scaife each scored 21 points and the Scarlet Knights used a season-high seven 3-pointers to beat the Pirates Storrs.

Betnijah Laney added 17 for Rutgers (23-9), while Tabatha Richardson-Smith scored 18 points to lead Seton Hall (28-6).

(3) Louisville 86, (14) BYU 53: Myisha Hines-Allen scored 19 points, leading the Cardinals to victory over the Cougars in Tampa, Florida.

Jude Schimmel added 13 points for Louisville (26-6). Morgan Bailey had 15 points and Lexi Eaton scored 14 for BYU (23-10). Bailey played most of the second half with four fouls. Louisville extended a 14-point halftime lead to 48-26 with 15:33 to play.

(6) South Florida 73, (11) LSU 64: Courtney Williams had 17 points and 12 rebounds and the host Bulls beat the Tigers in Tampa.

Laura Ferreira hit consecutive 3-pointers for USF (27-7) in the opening minute of the second half to put the Bulls up 12. Danielle Ballard scored 17 points for LSU (17-14).

Oklahoma City regional

(4) Stanford 73, (13) Cal State Northridge 60: Taylor Greenfield and Lili Thompson each scored seven points in a game-changing, second-half run that helped the host Cardinal overcome a long scoring drought in the first half to beat the Matadors in Stanford, California.

Greenfield with 19 points and Thompson had 17 as they took the game over during a 14-0 run that broke open a tie game early in the second half for Stanford (25-9).

Ashlee Guay scored 27 points to lead the Matadors (23-10).

(5) Oklahoma 111, (12) Quinnipiac 84: Freshman Gabbi Ortiz scored 16 points and Vionise Pierre-Louis added 15 to lead the Sooners victory over the Bobcats in Stanford.

Maddie Manning also scored 15 points, McKenna Treece had 14 and Kaylon Williams had 12 for Oklahoma (21-11). Jasmine Martin scored 24 points for Quinnipiac (31-4).
