Obituary: Collins, Linda Jane

COLLINS, Linda Jane Mrs. Linda Jane Collins, aka, LJ, LJC, Collins, Linder, Linney, L.J.

Babe, Lin, Sis, Mom and Grandma, moved to Heaven, on March 13, 2015.

She was born to Ray and Marilyn Brian on October 26, 1948, in Upland, CA, and lived most of her life in Spokane, WA.

Linda graduated from Shadle Park H.S.

in 1967 and attended SFCC.

Linda Jane married the “Love of her life,” Thomas Collins on November 15, 1975.

She worked for Pacific Metal Co., Spokane Christian Center, and Healing Rooms Ministries.

Linda would want others to know that she belonged to Jesus, having received Him as Lord and Savior while skiing at Alpental in December 1971.

As an Ordained Minister, Linda was honored to perform many weddings, funerals, baby dedications and baptisms as well as teaching, preaching and mentoring.

She was passionately in love with Jesus, ministering His love to everyone she met in her daily life.

She spent years sharing God’s love and encouragement in nursing homes and hospitals.

Linda was called a “Mother of Many,” no matter what their age.

She traveled around the U.S. and other nations because of her heart to see God’s love spread throughout the world.

Linda taught Letter Writing in women’s conferences and was involved in Healing Room School of Ministry.

She assisted with many Spiritual Hunger Conferences in Spokane.

Linda was a great woman of prayer and deeply loved the Word of God.

She found excitement studying the Scriptures and finding the nuggets contained in God’s Word.

Linda Jane loved her family fiercely, and she prayed for each one with great fervor.

Linda was an avid competitor who wanted to win at cards, games, and sports, including downhill ski-racing and running track as a teenager in the Spokane Parks Summer Track program.

She recently trained and competed in the WunderWoman Triathlon event in Medical Lake and participated in Bloomsday and many other local runs.

Linda learned to ski in 1955 and continued for over 50 years, mostly at Mt.

Spokane.

Linda Jane took great delight in the “wonderment” of God’s creation.

You could say she went “looking” rather than “walking” She began her love affair of camping at Reeder Bay, Priest Lake, Idaho in the early ‘50s.

Linda and Tom enjoyed many trips skiing, motorcycling, camping, and taking short drives together.

Linda joins her father, Ray Brian, in Glory.

Linda Jane left a legacy of love including her beloved husband Thomas: her son, Todd Collins (Karen) [Ashley, Brandon]; her daughter, Shyla Gibson (Adam) [Elijah, Issy], her sweet little mama, Marilyn Brian; her mother-in-love, Jean (Fred) Roe; sister, Kathie Milligan (Mike) [Matt/Shelley Milligan: McKenzie, Riley], [Peter/Maureen Milligan: Bram, Hudson], [Anna Michal Milligan], brother Doug Brian (Carol) [Aaron, Brittney], brothers-in-law: Richard (Ann), Les, Wally, Art Collins, and sister-in-law, Colleen (Marvin) Carstens, and many other nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Linda’s life will be held at Victory Faith Fellowship, 2024 N. Argonne Road, Spokane, WA on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00am.

A reception will follow.
