Woman dies from gunshot wound

From staff reports
A woman taken to a Spokane hospital Tuesday with a gunshot wound has died from her injuries, police said Wednesday. Officers responded to a house in the 2900 block of East Diamond Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday after a man called and said there was something wrong with the woman. He told dispatchers that a gun might have been fired at the house. When officers arrived, they found the woman vomiting and believed she was suffering from a drug overdose due to her behavior and the amount of drug paraphernalia in the house. Medics took the woman to the hospital, where they discovered a single gunshot wound to her lower abdomen. Her identity will be released by the Spokane County medical examiner. Police are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
