“One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” April 3-11. A charming rogue contrives to serve a short sentence in an airy mental institution instead of prison, but soon realizes his mistake when he clashes with the fierce Nurse Ratched, who wields electroshock treatments and lobotomies as weapons. “Equus” April 3-26. Martin Dysart, a psychiatrist, investigates the savage blinding of six horses at a stable in Hampshire, England. For no apparent reason, an unassuming 17-year-old stable boy named Alan Strang committed the atrocity with a hoof pick. As Dysart exposes the truths behind the boy’s demons, he finds himself confronting his own insecurities about religion, sexuality and his relationship with his wife.
