Words don’t match actions

On March 16, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers addressed a women’s Christian forum on the subject of the “war on women.” She said it is the task of this group to explain why increasing the minimum wage, expanding sick leave and family leave and addressing the pay gap would hurt women more than help them.

This from a congresswoman whose three children have all been born while she served in Congress. After each birth, she took extended family leave (paid for). There is no one working in Congress at the minimum wage, and no wage gap exists in congressional pay.

In other words, the congresswoman’s message to women is, “Do as I say, not as I do.”
