Obituary: Fricke, Evelyn Osborne

FRICKE, Evelyn Osborne Born September 9, 1933 to Cecil Osborne and Flora McCaskey Osborne in Belle Fourche, SD; Evelyn passed away March 26, 2015 in Spokane, WA.

In 1949 Evelyn moved to Rockford WA where she met and married Melvin Fricke.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years; three children, Kim (Roger) Balcom , Kathy Fricke Wilkerson and Lee (Theresa) Fricke as well as eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents and eight older brothers.

Evelyn spent much of her married life as a homemaker and was renowned for her cooking and poetry.

Her intense lifetime interest in family history and genealogy was one of her greatest pleasures.

In August 1983 Evelyn co-founded the Rockford Historical Society and was a driving force behind the opening of three museums in Rockford.

She remained very active in the Historical Society until 2013.

Evelyn leaves behind a very large body of research on the history of both the Osborne and Fricke families.

Evelyn will be remembered for her beautiful smile as well as her open loving heart.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 3rd at the Grange Hall in Rockford WA.

Memorials may be made to the Rockford Historical Society or Hospice of Spokane.
