Shared values of America, Israel

In his remark about Hannah Allam’s March 20 letter, Wayne Kraft (April 1) omitted some important facts.

The Civil Rights Movement succeeded because Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his followers were committed to nonviolence. Their marches and prayer vigils were all conducted peacefully. Civil rights leaders never called for a race war to murder whites and destroy our nation.

The Palestinians are committed to the destruction of Israel and mass murder of Israeli Jews. They have never recognized Israel’s right to exist or the right of Jews to live in the Holy Land. They call for death to Israel and death to the Jews. Peaceful coexistence is a totally foreign concept.

Among the many shared values of America and Israel is freedom of religion. Muslims and Christians worship in mosques and churches throughout Israel. Palestinians, on the other hand, attack and murder Jews and Christians at holy shrines that the Palestinians have illegally seized and occupied. Muslims carried out ethnic cleansing of Jewish villages hundreds of years before the modern state of Israel existed.

Another shared value is protecting citizens from attack. America is fighting international terrorism. Israel is defending itself against Palestinian terrorism.
