Obituary: Wilks-Gross, Janette

WILKS-GROSS, Janette 1932 - 2015 Janette Wilks-Gross passed on peacefully on April 22, 2015, in Beaverton, OR, lovingly companioned by her three sons whom she raised in Spokane Valley.

Born in Lostwood, ND, she worked from age 15 in the restaurant business for 58 years, the last 28 as owner/manager of the Sea Hag near Long Beach, WA where she made home since 1970.

She was much loved for her selfless care for people in her community.

Janette was preceded in death by parents Vivian and Leo Meyer, husband Gerald Gross, brother Delmer Meyer and sister Joyce Meddin.

Survivors include sons: Dennis Freeman of Tacoma, Bruce Wilks of Spokane Valley and Rick Freeman of Beaverton, OR; sisters: Donna Parrish of Spokane and Karen Ivy of Deer Park; brother Leo Meyer, Spokane; three generations of grandchildren; and countless friends all over the country.

A Wake will be held Saturday, May 16, 1-3pm, at the Elks Club, 110 Pacific Ave N, Long Beach, WA.

A family gathering in Spokane is planned for June.
