Nationals 1, Mets 0

In New York, Doug Fister breezed through his latest dominant outing against the Mets, and Washington held on for its second straight 1-0 win. It was the first time in franchise history, dating to the team’s Montreal debut in 1969, the Nationals won consecutive 1-0 games, according to STATS. Ryan Zimmerman blooped an RBI single in the first inning, and the Nationals took three of four from the N.L. East leaders to make it 17 victories in their last 19 tries in Queens. A heavy favorite to win the division, Washington has won five of six behind its vaunted rotation following a six-game losing streak.

Dodgers 1, D-backs 0 (13)

Yasmani Grandal threw out a runner at the plate after an errant pitch in the top of the 13th inning, then homered leading off the bottom half to lead Los Angeles over visiting Arizona for its fourth straight win. Arizona had runners at the corners with two outs in the 13th when J.P. Howell bounced a pitch to Cliff Pennington that Grandal had to chase to the right of home plate. The catcher threw to Howell covering the plate, and the pitcher reached down behind with his glove to make a blind tag on Aaron Hill.
