Do-nothing mayor

My monthly visit for an allergy shot forced me to negotiate the splendiferous roads in downtown Spokane. Driving my van found me bouncing around uncontrollably, even at 20 mph. I thought I was on a U.S. Forest Service road.

This first evoked anger and alarm, which transitioned to laughter because while it was dangerously distracting, it was also ridiculous. It was like a bumpy ride at an amusement park. Then I had an inspiration.

One way to pay for city improvements would be to sell tickets to ride on the Bucking Bronc streets in the City of Choice Amusement Park. These could be purchased for single days, weeks, months or years. Income could be used to add obstacles to make the experience even more sensational. This could attract tourists who are seeking an off-road adventure in a cityscape.

The mayor was elected to make Spokane a better place for everyone. It seems that he doesn’t try to solve important problems, but looks to do as little as possible so he can keep taxes low. As a resident and taxpayer, I am appalled by a do-nothing administration that is ruining this wonderful city.
