Make a Mother’s Day Card - Visit any library branch to make a Mothers’ Day card for that special mom, grandmother, aunt or friend. We will provide the supplies. You bring your creativity. Thursday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Free. (509) 444-5336.

Musicfest Northwest - Monday-May 15. The festival, organized in 1945 to instill in young people an enjoyment and appreciation of all the arts, while encouraging the study of music and dance, and promoting high standards of performance, is operated as a civic nonprofit organization. Bowl For Kids’ Sake - Each team member is asked to raise/donate $100 to Big Brothers Big Sisters, and then celebrate at a bowling party with pizza, soda, prizes and more. The money raised from Bowl for Kids’ Sake helps to match 80 kids on the waiting list meet their perfect Big. 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Lilac Lanes, 1112 E. Magnesium Road. $100/team. (509) 328-8310.

Mother & Son Dance - Presented by the El Katif Shriners, with a DJ spinning classic and modern hits. Nachos, pizza, soda and photo opportunities are all included. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance by phone. Proceeds from the dance benefit the El Katif Shriners, a local organization that works to enrich the lives of children and families by providing pediatric specialty care, conducting research and offering teaching programs for medical professionals. 7-10 p.m. Shriners Event Center, 7217 W. 26th Annual Mother’s Day Home Tour - Tour six historic homes, learn the history of the Manito Park neighborhood, take a horse and carriage ride and see the paper flower artistry of Anemone Paper Florists. Tickets available in advance at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, 2316 W. First Ave., or during event along Manito Boulevard. Benefits the museum. Junior Lilac Parade – 64th annual parade feature elementary and middle school bands. 10 a.m., downtown Spokane. www.spokanerotaract.org/junior-lilac-parade. Free.

Fifth Family Fun Fair - The parenting expo starts after the 64th Annual Junior Lilac Parade. Race cars on display, pictures with Roller Derby girls, play chess with the Inland Chess Academy, visit the SCRAPS adoption drive, pony rides, petting zoo, bounce houses, edible bubble machine, arts and crafts, family-friendly vendors, local sports mascots and more. 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Riverfront Park, 507 N. Gonzaga Baseball vs. Pacific - The Bulldogs host the University of the Pacific Tigers. Kid’s Day with an autograph session after the game, and kids can run the bases after the game. It’s also Mother’s Day and Senior Day. Kids Explore and Discover Club - North Spokane - For children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Held second Monday of the month, 4-5 p.m., October-May. All ages are welcome. Children 6 and younger should be accompanied by an adult. From squishy circuits and superheroes, to learning about sharks and the science of sight, we think you’ll love these STEM Mondays.
