Sympathy for Moore’s family
It is with profound sadness and some anger that I make these observations and comments. I speak in regard to the senseless slaying of Coeur d’Alene Police Sgt. Greg Moore. My sympathy and empathy are with Moore’s family at this very difficult time.
I am proudly from a family of law enforcement. My dad retired as a captain from the Spokane Police Department. He had served longer than any other police officer. My cousin-in-law retired as a deputy of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. My second cousin (their son) serves as a deputy in the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. I worked with many officers over 46 years as a registered nurse and always appreciated the job they performed.
One thing that you dread as a family member is the terrible message that Moore’s family received. There is always the fear that when they go out to work that you may never see each other again. These men and women are dedicated to the service and safety of the public, and should be praised and thanked for the performance of their duties in protecting us all.
God bless and watch over Moore’s family, and all of our very special law enforcement personnel.
