The Loon State

Texas, in its continuing effort to provide unparalleled hilarity for the rest of the country, has once again outdone itself. Jade Helm 15, a seven-state war simulation exercise, has some Texans up in arms thanks to the likes of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Louis Gohmert.

They think Jade Helm 15 is a prelude to the government taking over their beloved state. Cruz, undoubtedly under a great deal of stress from ongoing paranoia, went so far as to call the Pentagon to make sure Texas wasn’t going to be attacked. Gov. Greg Abbott has called in state troopers to keep an eye on the military as they conduct their exercises. Even “actor” Chuck Norris weighed in with his two cents worth of fear-mongering.

Way to go, Texas. You can now be referred to as the Loon Star state instead of Lone Star.
