Change execution methods

In regards to Nathan Watts’ May 10 letter, “Killing is killing,” I guess he doesn’t feel killers should be held accountable for their actions.

Who is he to question the feelings of the victims of the Boston Marathon or Aurora, Colorado, killings? They have every right to want these killers put to death. In fact, if they had their execution shown on TV or printed in the newspaper, it would show future killers they would be held accountable for their actions and they might think twice before they killed anyone.

What needs to be changed is the way the death penalty is done. An animal vet uses a shot that has no pain for the animal and generally stops the heart in less than one minute. We had to put a cat and a 1,200-lb. horse down, and it took less than a minute.

Does he recall the words “an eye for an eye”? What about a life for a life, which can simply be done by a shot or a firing squad?
