Forage for your dinner
Gourmet Foragables & More is teaming up with Wandering Table for its third annual forest-to-plate spring event.
Josh Yake of Gourmet Foragables & More will teach guests how to identify native edible plants and mushrooms during a forest-to-table foray. Participants will hike through the woods in search of morels, coral mushrooms, nettles, fiddlehead ferns, cattails and more.
Then, guests can enjoy a nine-course dinner featuring ingredients found during the hunt.
The cost for the foray is $50 per person. It’s another $15 if you need a Discover Pass to access Washington state parks. The foray is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday rain or shine.
The dinner is at 6 p.m. May 27 at Yards Bruncheon, 1248 W. Summit Parkway. It’s the sister restaurant of Wandering Table, located next door. Dinner is $60. Courses will be paired with wines from Townshend Cellar. Seating is limited to 25 people. Call (509) 443-4410 or send an email to chef Ryan Stoy at chefryanstoy@gmail.com.
