Obituary: Boling, Glenn W.

Age 82

BOLING, Glenn W. (Age 82) Glenn W. Boling passed away May 21, 2015 in Spokane, Washington.

Glenn was born June 28, 1932 in Seattle, Washington to Victor and Verna (Benjamin) Boling.

He was a Veteran of the Korean War, having served four years in the Navy as a Radar operator.

Two of those years he was stationed at Midway Island in the Pacific.

Glenn received Bachelor’s Degrees from Edison Technical School and Eastern Washington University in Biology and also a Teacher’s Certificate.

Glenn tracked satellites in Alaska and Goddard Spaceflight Center, during the first flights of the astronauts, and was the first Biohazard officer for the University of Washington and also Director of the Health Department in Adams County.

He then turned to teaching in several schools in the State of Washington which included the Indian Reservation.

He led an adventurous life overseas in Istanbul, Turkey.

Glenn is survived by his wife: Gay Boling.

Three sons; Raleigh, Ben and Shawn Boling.

Daughter; Tammy Johannessen.

He was blessed with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Glenn had many talents but his greatest gift was laughter.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday May 29, at the Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.
