Area roundup: Cougs’ Joe Pistorese, Ian Hamilton All-Pac-12

Washington State Cougars pitchers Joe Pistorese and Ian Hamilton were named to the All-Pac-12 first team it was announced Wednesday.

WSU infielder Ian Sagdal received honorable mention.

Pistorese, a senior starter from Kalispell, Montana, posted an 8-5 record this season with a 2.41 earned-run average in 15 starts. He led the conference with four complete games and became the Cougars’ all-time leader in innings pitched. He was twice named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week.

Hamilton, a sophomore closer from Vancouver, Washington, finished the season with a 1.67 ERA in 43 innings and tied for the conference lead with 13 saves. Hamilton became WSU’s all-time leader in saves with 28 this season.

Sagdal, a senior from East Wenatchee, Washington, led the Cougars in nearly every offensive category. He set career highs in batting average (.298), runs (35), hits (61), doubles (13), triples (5), home runs (6), runs batted in (34) and stolen bases (13).
