Police officers fail to make impression

A woman pulled over for a traffic stop in Liberty Lake last week had a bad day that got worse when she refused to believe that the uniformed police officer driving a marked police car was really a police officer.

The woman demanded that the officer show three forms of identification and call his supervisor to the scene, said Liberty Lake Police Chief Brian Asmus. She continued her disbelief even after three other uniformed officers driving marked police cars arrived to assist, said Asmus. The entire encounter was recorded on the officer’s body camera.

“The officer was very patient,” Asmus said.

The woman was cited for obstructing a police officer when she continued to refuse to cooperate, Asmus said.
