Robbery suspect arrested after I-90 chase

The Washington State Patrol arrested a robbery suspect after a brief high speed chase on Interstate 90 ended in a crash Tuesday afternoon.

The Petro in Medical Lake was robbed around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and a description of the car involved was broadcast over the police radio. A WSP trooper spotted the car driving east on I-90 into Spokane, said WSP spokesman Trooper Jeff Sevigney.

The driver attempted to get off at the Division exit, changed his mind and started driving on the shoulder, Sevigney said. At that point the trooper and a WSP sergeant attempted to pull the car over, but it sped off.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Quintin G. Sinn, took the Altamont exit. He T-boned a car at Third Avenue and Altamont when he ran a red light, Sevigney said. Sinn fled on foot but was tracked down and arrested. Sinn received some scrapes and bruises, Sevigney said.

“He jumped over a few fences,” he said.

Trevor M. Ribic, who was driving the car Sinn hit, was not injured. Ribic’s car was pushed into a third car; that driver was also uninjured.

Spokane Police Department spokeswoman Officer Teresa Fuller said police are investigating whether Sinn might be tied to recent robberies in Spokane. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail Tuesday evening on a single charge of second-degree robbery. Additional charges related to the chase could also be filed.

Sinn’s criminal history includes convictions for trafficking in stolen property, eluding police, theft, residential burglary and possession of stolen property.
