Chiefs trade Luke Harrison, pick up goaltender

The Spokane Chiefs have traded 20-year-old forward Luke Harrison and have acquired a goaltender, the team announced Thursday.

The Chiefs traded Harrison to the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft. In addition, the Chiefs picked up 18-year-old goaltender Lasse Peterson off waivers.

Peterson, out of Swan River, Manitoba, appeared in seven games with the Calgary Hitmen this season, allowing 17 goals on 140 shots (.879 save percentage) and one shutout. He will wear No. 35 and join goaltenders Tyson Verhelst and Matt Berlin.

Harrison, who was obtained in the 20-year-old cut-down waiver draft in October, appeared in seven games for the Chiefs and scored two goals. He has 19 goals and 32 points in 190 career games.

The Chiefs play Saturday at Tri-City. Their next home game is Nov. 11 against the Everett Silvertips.
