New Mexico stuns Boise State 31-24

BOISE, Idaho (AP) – Austin Apodoca’s big-play strikes and Jhurell Pressley’s 132-yard rushing performance helped New Mexico stun Boise State 31-24 Saturday night, ending the Broncos’ 18-game home winning streak.

The Lobos (6-4, 4-2 Mountain West) earned their first win in seven tries against Boise State, which had taken over the second-longest active home winning streak in FBS after Baylor lost earlier Saturday.

Boise State (7-3, 4-2) squandered its chance to maintain control of its destiny in the Mountain Division. The Broncos are still alive in the division race but now need some help.

Meanwhile, New Mexico, which was picked to finish last in the division, has a surprising opportunity to play for the conference title if it wins its final two games, both at home, against Colorado State and Air Force.

With the score tied at 17, New Mexico scored two touchdowns in a span of 1:35 to help the Lobos escape win the win.
