Meals on Wheels ailing

United Way of Spokane has stopped funding Meals on Wheels Mid-City Concerns.

Mid-City Meals on Wheels here in Spokane served 500 seniors in their homes and about 180 at the senior center Mid-City. In addition, eight other non-profit agencies, including Lilac Services for the Blind, have lost Spokane United Way funding.

For some Meals on Wheels clients, this is their only meal.

Meals on Wheels gives help to the lonely, and Meals on Wheels makes hunger visible. We all need Meals on Wheels.
