Urban Eden hosts fall veggie sale

Urban Eden Farm is hosting its Pre-Thanksgiving Sale on Saturday.

Pick up the last of the farm’s fall vegetables along with turkey or other meats from Ione’s Ramstead Ranch.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Urban Eden Farm, 2121 S. Cherry St. in Spokane’s Vinegar Flats neighborhood.

New supper club

Ivory Table has started a First Friday Supper Club.

The East Sprague Avenue restaurant hosts a four-course dinner with wine pairings on the first Friday of each month. There are 26 spots available.

Dinner is served communal-style with candles and French music. The next one is scheduled for Dec. 4.

Spokane’s Epicurean Delight Gala has announced the winners of its Culinary and Libation Awards:

Outstanding Hors d’Oeuvres – Williams Seafood Market and Wines, Wild Smoked Salmon Dip

Outstanding First Course – Centerplate, Seared Sea Scallops

Outstanding Entrée – Deaconess Hospital, Bacon-Wrapped Elk Meatloaf and Timber Gastropub for its Guilty Ravioli

Outstanding Dessert – Northern Quest Resort and Casino Bakery, Washington Apple Cake Confit

People’s Choice Best Restaurant – Masselow’s Steakhouse, Seared Superior Farms Lamb Tenderloin

People’s Choice Best Libation – Walla Walla Vintners, 2013 Columbia Valley Sangiovese and 2013 Walla Walla Valley Merlot

Nearly 30 restaurants or other food businesses participated in the competition along with 16 wineries, 11 breweries, two cider works and one distillery.

The sold-out event took place Nov. 6 at the Spokane Convention Center. It’s a fundraiser for the Inland Northwest Blood Center and Blood Center Foundation, and proceeds will go toward a capital campaign to raise $350,000 for a new bloodmobile.
