People: Rapper Snoop Dogg helps deliver 1,500 turkeys in Inglewood

Snoop Dogg has helped deliver more than 1,500 turkeys to families in Inglewood.

Mayor James Butts told KNBC-TV the rapper joined him for Thursday’s giveaway at an indoor arena and that he took pictures with hundreds of people at the event.

This is the second year the rapper has helped Inglewood pass out the turkeys to families in need. Last year, the rapper asked the city what he could do to give back to the community, where his production crew is headquartered.

Butts said he suggested the rapper help pass out turkeys.

The city passed out 800 turkeys at last year’s event.

Man sentenced to 10 years for shooting Lil Wayne tour bus

A man accused of shooting into Lil Wayne’s tour buses on a Georgia highway has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds said in a news release that Jimmy Carlton Winfrey pleaded guilty Friday to six counts of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

Winfrey had been indicted on 30 counts. As part of a plea deal, prosecutors won’t pursue the remaining counts.

Superior Court Judge Mary E. Staley also sentenced Winfrey to serve 10 years on probation.

Prosecutors said Winfrey threatened Lil Wayne, whose real name is Wayne Carter, in April at an Atlanta entertainment venue and then left. Prosecutors said Winfrey later fired on two buses in the rapper’s entourage after they left the venue. No one was injured.

Duggar sisters star in TLC special

From the rubble of TLC’s canceled “19 Kids and Counting” now rises “Jill and Jessa: Counting On.”

The three specials will air Dec. 13, 20 and 27, the TLC network announced Friday.

These specials focus on Jill (Duggar) Dillard as she moves to Central America with her family for missionary work and Jessa (Duggar) Seewald starts a family of her own.

The sisters were two of the “19 Kids and Counting” on the TLC reality show that chronicled the home life of Arkansas parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. It was pulled from the network in May over revelations that Josh, oldest of the Duggar siblings, had molested four of his sisters and a baby sitter.

In August, he publicly apologized for a pornography addiction and cheating on his wife. Earlier this week, adult film actress Ashley Stamm-Northup, known as Danica Dillon, sued Josh Duggar, claiming the reality TV star assaulted her on two occasions when consensual sex turned rough.
