Carson running an intelligent race

Dr. Ben Carson is the most real candidate up for election. It is apparent from Steven Heaps’ letter that he believes Carson, who made it through one of the toughest mentally challenging and physically taxing kinds of schooling there is, made it without learning critical thinking or being connected to reality.

Heaps uses Carson’s faith to discredit him, belittling the truth that there is a God who cares about the small things in life. I think that is because his definition of reality might be quite different from Carson’s.

Heaps criticizes his critical thinking? I believe the kind he refers to has this definition: “reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do.” Does he not think that a man faced with the reality of life and death every day has not reasonably deducted that faith in a loving God is reasonable?

What Carson says is his reality and is, indeed, one of the most exact definitions. Also, Carson is indeed able to think reasonably and reflectively, at least enough to understand how to save children’s lives, and intelligently run for president.
