Women’s Basketball: Washington State cruises against San Jose State

Freshman Borislava Hristova scored 30 points on 12-of-19 shooting to lead Washington State over San Jose State 95-80 on Friday in Pullman.

Hristova hit three 3-pointers and added four rebounds and three assists for the Cougars (5-0).

Alexys Swedlund made four 3s and finished with 16 points, while Louise Brown added 12 points and Dawnyelle Awa 11. Mariah Cooks pulled down 12 rebounds.

E. Carolina 80, Eastern Washington 62

Jada Payne scored 20 points to lead four in double figures and the Pirates (6-1) knocked off the Eagles 80-62 at the Lone Star Showcase in Austin, Texas.

Hayley Hodgins led Eastern (3-3) with 16 points. Delaney Hodgins had 14 points while Tisha Phillips added 11 points and six rebounds.

Idaho 75, Texas State 55

Geraldine McCorkell scored 18 points with eight rebounds and the Vandals (4-1) handled the Bobcats (2-3) 75-55 in the second game of the Cancun Challenge in Mexico.

Ali Forde posted her 14th career double-double with 10 points and 15 boards, adding four blocks and three steals. Christina Salvatore went 4 of 5 from beyond the arc for a season-high 16 points.
