Obituary: Riddle, Mable Ellen

RIDDLE, Mable Ellen (Age 96) Mable was born December 30, 1918 to James and Josie Griffin in a one room log cabin near Clarkia, Idaho.

She married George Riddle September 23, 1940 in Moscow, Idaho.

They relocated to Spokane in 1943.

Mable raised five boys and after they were mostly grown she worked at several jobs before retiring from Deaconess Hospital in 1981.

She was a member of the Corbin Senior Center and Central Baptist Church.

Mable loved learning, travel, and chocolate.

She had a green thumb and loved to be outside, whether on her daily walk or sitting on her front porch.

She was famous for sharing family stories and childhood memories.

Mable was the center of family gatherings and her door was always open to family and friends.

Mable was preceded in death by her husband George and sons Samuel, Dennis, and Robert.

She is survived by son James and wife Karen; son Gerald and wife Susan; daughters-in-law Vel and Carol; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A special “Thank you” to the staff of Royal Park for taking care of Mom over the past two years.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
