Obituary: Eickstadt, Harold George

EICKSTADT, Harold George “Grizz” Grizz passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side at Hospice House Spokane on November 19, 2015 at the age of 62 years.

Born January 12, 1953 to Harold Gabriel and Margaret Alice Eickstadt at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

He graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1971 before starting his career as a Welder/Fabricator and working on heavy machinery.

He proudly served over 30 years working for Western States Equipment in Spokane.

He was a lifelong resident of North Spokane where he married and raised his two daughters in the Shadle Park Neighborhood.

Grizz was passionate about all things fast and loud.

He spent much of his time building hot rods, Harley Davidson motorcycles, boats and custom machinery.

He loved to spend time with his buddies and family at the drag strip, in the shop, on the lake and most recently fishing for Steelhead on the Snake River.

He was active in the community though the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and served as Worthy Past President of Aerie #2 in Spokane.

Over the years he was a member of the Dukes, Centurions, the Gents and Draggins Car Clubs.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents and one grandson, John Robert Harold Pederson.

Grizz is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Matthew Pederson along with their children, Hunter Gabriel, Garrett Lee and Charlee Marie Pederson; his daughter, Kasey Burrows and her daughter, Dakotah Rose Eickstadt.

A Memorial Service for Grizz will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home & Crematory, 2203 N. Division St. Spokane, WA on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 3:00pm with a reception to be hosted by the family afterwards.
