Iggbo to offer mobile blood draws in Spokane market

A Richmond, Virginia, company that offers mobile blood draws has moved into the Spokane market.

Iggbo operates is 35 U.S. cities, with more than 4,000 phlebotomists, officials said. Doctors order blood tests using the company’s mobile app, and the patient can schedule the blood draw at home, work or a doctor’s office. The blood sample is shipped to a lab for processing.

Iggbo’s founders based the company’s business model on Uber, which connects people who need rides with drivers, and other on-demand mobile apps.

There are more than 1 billion blood draws in the United States annually, and that figure is expected to grow, said Nuno Valentine, Iggbo’s co-founder and chief executive officer.
